New Zealand pics

September 19th, 2009

Well, after a shameful amount of time has past, we have sorted thought the pics from New Zealand.  They are mostly of Holly trying to stuff things in her mouth.

I have been ill most of the week and Andrea is now coming down with something  so it seemed like the perfect opportunity to sort through all the photos.  We have done very little work on the house in the last week or so with illness and, last weekend, birthdays of Andrea and Ryan getting in the way. We did manage to plant the mighty punga today. We just hope it survives the Geordie winter.

The double glazing is being fitted in a week and the builder has started his work too, so it is beginning to take shape.  We’re still responding with “before Christmas” when people ask when we will be moving in.

Thursday to tonight (Saturday) saw that wonderful spectacle that rears but once a year hit the local area… the Tynemouth beer festival.  Unfortunately, illness has robbed us of all three evenings of real ale pleasure so I will have to rely on reviews from Graham on this years brews.

John and Andrea.

Home

August 20th, 2009

Well we landed back home early on Monday, just in time to pick up the keys to our new house!

The pics from New York start here.

Full post to come at some point…

Now, should I start stripping wallpaper or sort through the New Zealand pictures?…

The long white cloud

August 6th, 2009

Hey all!

We are currently at Sue and Ross’s in Palmerston North. We are down here with Watson, Arnie and Holly to see Andrea’s Nana. On Wednesday she successfully came through a major op. She’s doing very well and looks perky.

We’re venturing back up north today. Unfortunately I’m going to have to wait until we are back home before we can upload pics.

In other news… The house sale is confirmed :) Whitley here we come…

New york new york

July 23rd, 2009

We are packing up after 5 fantastic nights in New York. Tuesday saw the fabulous wedding of Simon and Shona with the reception held right over times square. It doesn’t get much better, especially when you factor in half brick sized New York steak. Mmm meat.

Shona looked stunning, all the girls got thier hair and makeup done on 5th avenue and a limosine whisked them about the city. Horn honking tastic.

The night ended in a local bar with a rousing rendition of ‘New York New york’ by the newly joined Fullers, we all joined in of course.

I’m doing this on my phone and don’t have access to all the pic taken so far so here is the view from our apartment :)

Time for more flights…

Josh, Berwick and alpackers

June 7th, 2009

The galleries for April and May are now up.

It hasn’t been a prolific few months for photographs but there’s some visual charting of Jen and Ryan’s new arrival, Josh, a trip to Berwick in Beth and Grahams new caravan and the County show at Corbridge.  Dave and Wendy also made their first trip down from Edinburgh but we have shamefully little evidence of that in pictures.  We did drink a lot of beer though.

Looking back at these pics from the last couple of months it shows how quickly Josh is growing, he’ll be designing and building his first playhouse before long…

There were signs the process on our prospective new house is picking up again last week but we still don’t have a completion date.  The chances of us moving in properly before we go on our epic holiday are looking slimmer as the weeks pass but hey-ho… what can you do.

We’ve had some very generous offers of applicances and furniture from people that are updating, if anyone out there is throwing something out let us know first please :)   I know where I can hire a cheap van for the day…
