I made my first baked cheesecake for the event… Behold, chocolate cheesecake!

UPDATE: finished 4-1 to mighty Torquay. Good game. Fine curling finish for the third right in front of us.

Good to see a match from the ground and the Torquay fans were in full voice.

In a pub now for the rugby which looks like it could have been someone’s house just last week. Or maybe in the 50′s anyway, complete with outside toilet.

We had a great roast chicken yesterday. It was Spanish style courtesy of the Jamie Oliver “dinners” book.

A couple of boiling hot and stabbed lemons lovingly inserted into its cavity along with lots of chorizo around the outside. Flavoursome.

I have made this cake a few times now and can highly recommend it. Since it contains 3 punnets of blueberries it must be good for you too…

I stuck fairly rigidly to the recipe from the BBC below but use 2 punnets for the cake and one on top. Also, if you dust the blueberries for inside the cake in a bit of flour after washing them that should stop them all sinking to the bottom.

A magimix makes this cake a breeze to make.

Years of trailing around hundreds of charity shops finally paid off yesterday.

In the British Heart Foundation in Durham there was the above set of le creuset cast iron pans hidden away.

It was quite a mission to carry them back to the car and one of the 6 plastic bags gave way but it was worth the effort.

We just had a very nice lunch at the Udberg senior household. I have finally gave in and updated our website with this post after a long absence from the site after much pestering…

We have had a great time off from work in the sun.  Pics include a couple of BBQ’s and images from York where we spent 2 nights last week.  As well as eating and enjoying the sun we have got some good work done in the garden and started a path in the community garden.

There’s also a seperate gallery with pics from Beverley and Brandesburton.  This town and village in Yorkshire feature heavily in the Grayburn family history that Mike has put together so we went along for a look.  We parked in Grayburn Lane carpark and found a few gravestones bearing the name at St Mary’s church in the town.

Massive. That’s a family size naan hung next to my heavily gelled bonce (I’m still getting used to having hair).

We visited Akbars last night, really good curry. We made the mistake of seeing someone else with MASSIVE naan and thought it was the “family naan”. It turns out that was a regular naan and we’d ordered the comedy size naan. Awesome!
