After the antibiotics had kicked in, Andrea went on a (the?!) training run yesterday.  Tynemouth to St. Mary’s lighthouse was the challenge and coming in well under an hour it bodes well for (at least the first third…) of the run itself.

We returned to Coniston Waters last weekend for another adventure weekend with Shona and Simon (plus a few of his work mates…), much like we did last year.

Ryan and Jen joined us on this years trip, pictures of which start here.  We also have a camera worth of pictures of us gorge walking but that needs to get developed as it is of the old fashioned variety…

The weekend was also punctuated with birthday celebrations, Ryan on the Friday and Andrea on the Saturday.  Between the present giving we managed to fit in gorge walking, windsurfing and, on Sunday, a very pleasant walk.

Unfortunately spending most of Saturday in the water has taken its toll on Andrea… she is now on antibiotics for a cold and chest infection.

Thursday night just gone saw the Newcastle Business Park Fun Run go just as planned… which was pleasing as I was one of the organisers!  Andrea, Jen, Graham and Beth all came along and competed.  For a ‘fun’ run its pretty competitive… we have a current ‘Iron Man’ participant that always takes part and he only came second this year!

Andrea has gone back to school today and my month of 4 day weeks is over… booooo.

We were in Leeds over the weekend, staying in the Hilton with a travel industry discount

The hotel was great and when not there we spent our time wandering round the shops.  On Saturday night we went out in search of food and drink.  We ended up with fine dining, our first time in a ‘Nando’s’!  It was really good actually.

We were in Birmingham last weekend to see Shona and Simon.  On the Saturday the girls went off to do Wedding things while Simon and I went off to the city’s IMAX theater to see the fantastic ‘The Dark Knight’.  Unfortunately the cinema was booked out so we had to make do with a trip to the pub and an afternoon of Olympics on the Wii (I am now the official javelin World record holder)

Saturday night we Celebrated Shona and Simons engagement in style at a city bar.  Pictures from Shona’s camera can be seen starting here.  We had a great night and it was good to see some of the people we met last year at the Lakes and some of their other mates.

Sunday was a lazy day spent browsing the shops, watching Hot Fuzz and rounded off with a Chinese Buffett dinner.

I’m looking forward to the start of the Premiership season tomorrow.  I have 3 fantasy football teams on the go so the pressure is on.

Andrea is running daily (well, almost…) and is gearing up for another week of Olympics couch supporting.  She has ordered a Wetsuit which should be with us imminently so the surfing can really take off.
